Spring Chinook Reports

3/17/23

 Lower Columbia River

Water temp 41-44, clarity was less than 18-24”.

Made a shakedown springer trip, running herring behind triangle flashers with no success. Marked some fish and no reports on the water of any fish being caught this day.

3/24/23 Report

Water Temp 42-43 degree. Unbelievable how many se lions were in the river. smelt are still thick but water clarity was decent. Fished for a few hours with no takers and only a report of one fish being hooked but lost. water tem

4/21/23 Report

Things are still a little slow but good luck shined on this boat today. With temps still pretty cool, 47-48 degrees and low fish count numbers somehow we got it done. Running coonshrimp spinners behind 360 flashers. only observed 3 other fish caught. With warmer weather in the forecast we should start seeing the numbers improve over the next week.

4/29/2023 Report

With water temps in the 50 degree range it seems to have got the fish moving. The number of fish crossing the dam is increasing daily. Coon shrimp spinners and 360’s again are the ticket. Still a little slow but with every new day the more fish are showing up. The week to come should have great results.
